DGME 100 Media Representation (2024/2025)

This guide has been designed to help you locate high-quality resources that you need to complete your assignment for DGME 100 with Professor Brown. Some things you should consider as you start this project:

  • Your assignment task is to look for discussion of representations, not only to find images or media that depict it.
  • Media studies is interdisciplinary. You will need to find discussions written or created from a variety of subject areas (disciplines) like psychology, sociology, Ethnic Studies, history, art, and more.
  • Reflect on your own experiences with media of all kinds. Are any of your identities (gender, age, race, job, community affiliation, language, etc) represented in a way you do not agree with?

The objectives for the instruction session:

  • Student awareness of specific CSM Library resources that support the assignment
  • Exploration search strategies to support your research for this assignment.
