  • Found an ebook from my search and landed in Ebook Central collection. This book was a how-to book for designing. Re-did my search using same words plus history.
  • Realized I need a particular viewpoint of characters from 1990s - early 2000s. Limited my search to publications from 2000-2005.

Psychology perspective - podcasts

“Podcast 31: Harassment in Video Games.” The Psychology of Games, 14 Nov. 2017, https://www.psychologyofgames.com/2017/11/podcast-31-harassment-in-video-games/.

Initial Search

  • Search/keywords: podcast gaming video games violence
  • Search tool used to find item: Google search engine. No filtering. Relied on putting the information source format in the search. This sometimes works out.
  • First page of results: found the podcast series The Psychology of Games" that mentioned "a discussion with a different expert on a specific topic about psychology and video games." Other items on the first page, didn't indicate the background, expertise, or focus of the items.

Search Revisions / Edits

  • Explored second page of results. Evaluated and rejected a public radio podcast episode "Exploring the impact of violent video games," but decided against it after listening for a few minutes.

  • Keeping the same search words but shifting to online places to find podcasts like Apple or Spotify.

  • Revised search and tried adding word "history"
  • After reading and evaluating this site, I know is not a substantive or in-depth article. This article gives me a list of names that I can keep looking up. It is part of the iterative process of research.
